When it comes to the new regulations, you don’t need to fear. The GDPR’s main rules are very similar to the current Data Protection Act (DPA) so you are probably already close to complying. There are a few additional aspects that you’ll need to address. For instance, there is a stricter policy when it comes to recording, sharing, managing and storing data. In order to communicate with your customers and prospects you will need to adopt an opt-in methodology (and in some countries/states; double opt-in).
Tip: It would be a good idea to map out which parts of the GDPR will have the most impact on your business and prioritise those areas in your planning process.
